letting loose

Wore this on a Friday casual day at work. As you can see, I am already dressed for the weekend. :P

I love well-tailored looks but sometimes keeping things loose and relaxed like this works well too.

This is my favorite trick in ~dressing up a pair of shorts - with a dressier top and a some heels.

Another casual Friday look. Button-down +shorts + court shoes is definitely my favorite casual combo.


Pairing with a button-down and a pair of dressy shoes makes this pair of denim shorts from getting too shabby.

On Friday, I decided to wear this nude cropped top with my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans.


I bought this cropped top over a year ago but just never got around to wearing it until now. 


I wasn't sure if a loose and boxy cropped top will work well paired with baggy denim, but I'm loving this look. It's very comfortable too. Perfect for warmer days. I was also on my second attempt of breaking in my new pair of pointy heels. One more day of break-in, and I could run after my bus in these.

I'm really loving the partial tuck. The best way to execute this is to keep it messy and haphazard. Also, I usually pair my chambray shorts with a white or colored top but I think black also works quite well with it. 


I've got a backlog of pictures - some even from before my Manila trip last month. This should keep me busy over the weekend.

weekend's almost here

I've had a long and stressful week (despite the mid-week break) so I'm looking forward to a much-needed time off this weekend.
I'm glad that a pair of shorts is now more socially acceptable even in work setting. In fact, you can even go corporate with it by choosing  a tailored pair. However, I often see people make the mistake of pairing casual shorts with casual t-shirts. Remember, casual work outfits is all about balance. One trick is to pair with a more formal top - a blouse like this (or button-downs). Instantly, you take this from shopping in Orchard Rd to your workstation. Loose the sandals, pair with more classic heels (or classic with a twist!) instead.

Fell for this salmon-colored open-toed pumps. Unfortunately, these aren't the most comfortable pair of heels I own and I can only wear them on days when I know I am going straight home.
