No matter how much I wish I could pull off a maxi skirt, I just don't have the height for it. Thankfully, I am also in search for the perfect midi to pair with my footwear of choice, the boots. :)
So, a snip here and a tuck there and voila!

For this look, I was inspired by the Japanese and decided to play up with the proportions. Of course, when I was styling this, I didn't realize this proportion is actually a thing now. Embracing frumpterable!
Some of latest discoveries:

1. Clean Face Oil free BB cream from The Face Shop and 2. 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Perversion from Urban Decay

I was using another BB cream from The Face Shop but noticed that it makes my face even more oily and I literally feel like my face is melting at the end of the day. So decided to try this BB cream from the Clean Face line. (I also use Clean Face extra mild toner which my skin is loving!) I've been using this for 2 weeks now and it gives my skin a much lighter, more breathable feeling. As a bonus, it has a lovely mild non-make-up-ey smell. :P

The eye pencil was an impulsive buy as Sephora. As the name suggests glide-on doesn't leave nasty clumps when applying or after wearing it for a while. Loving how a black kohl produces that instant drama!

But was sold by this comfy pair with an interesting origami-like heel AND selling at 50% off!

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Life has been full of distractions lately - a (too) short trip back to Manila (where I scored neon tops from Blanco on sale!) and getting sick (you can tell when you're getting older when a garden-variety flu is so hard to kick!), I didn't have much time nor the energy to get ~dressed up. On these days, I end up on my favorite looks - skinny jeans or pencil skirts and ankle boots.

Anyway, I was finally feeling better last weekend and decided to go window shopping. Most stores are now stocking up on their Spring collection and I can't be more than happy to see colors again (and weather-appropriate pieces!)

Dropped by Zara and fell in love with this kimono-style blazer.

I love the print and the colors and how it can immediately elevate any look. Will look so good with an all-white look (I'm so drawn to white lately!) or a black pencil skirt and tank top. Costs a bit bit on the steeper side for me but I'm trying to justify the purchase by saying the last time I've bought a blazer was 2 years ago at Topshop. It's time for a new one!

This is a long overdue post.
As a 90s girl, I've always been partial to boots of any shape and color. But what was really missing in my humble collection is a pair of mannish/combat boots. I was fantasizing about how good they will go with my new favorite midi length pencil skirts or skinny jeans or denim shorts. *drool* So I was delighted when I came across this awesome pair of brown combat boots at H&M.

Been pretty much living in these boots since I got them in November. I love them to bits.

1. Uniqlo Maxi skirt - gifted. It's a bit too floor-skimming so I'm thinking of bringing this to my friendly alteration auntie to turn into a midi.
2. Striped pencil skirt from F21 - gifted. In midi length. Love it!
3. Neon knit top from Zara - gifted by Ma. Loose, slouchy and neon are some of my favorite things.
4. Polka dot skirt - Picked up from Landmark in Manila. In my new favorite midi length and the best thing about it is that it cost PHP350+(SGD10!) only.
Great finds from the post-holiday sale from Lovisa. Love that statement neck piece marked down to SGD20. It can pretty much go with everything I own! And the gold ring is very punk-rock selling for SGD13 only.
I saw this Fall look featured on Refinery 29 and I thought it's a great idea (except for the shoes. No thanks!) on mixing pencil skirts with hoodie and parka.
While I enjoy Singapore weather, it's images like this that makes me sometimes wish that we enjoyed four seasons to give us opportunities to experiment with layering.

While I was in Kos last Winter, I was drawn to the casual Winter looks sported by the teenage boys - hoodies layered with parka or leather outerwear. I loved the volume and mix of textures they created.

We can still use such inspiration by pairing sporty top with a dressier skirt or topping a pencil skirt, loose blouse with a thin parka.

I spray once after I wear all my make up in the morning (as above) and once again in the afternoon. Being out in the sun at lunch, my face had a tendency to melt but with this, it feels much less oily and icky. I also leaves a cooling sensation after spray with a powdery finish so I don't even need to re-touch. This is definitely a little piece of heaven in a bottle.

They give off a very travelling minstrel vibe.
It continually puzzles me when I see tourists who know they will be spending the entire day sightseeing and yet choose to wear heeled sandals, party dresses (it's perfectly acceptable to wear a dress but a jewel-toned taffeta dress and I came across this more than once?!) and a clutch. *SMH*
Last month, went on a short trip to Hong Kong. As you know, Hong Kong is just as much a shopping capital as Singapore so I spent some time in my trip to check out the shopping scene.

I made sure I don't leave HK without checking out Monki, that H&M clone also from Sweden. While they had a lot of cool stuff, I only ended up buying these lovely wireless bras and the polka-dotted retro bikini top. I was also happy I managed to finally find a handbag! (I will show this in a better photo from an outfit post.)

This jersey is a lucky find from Mong Kok's Ladies Market. The market itself is full of fake goods from the latest it-bags to denim, etc. I gave those a skip but the shops to check out are those apparel shops along the street. I believe their items are imported from Japan and if you are patient enough to go through racks of floral and gaudy-printed clothing, you'll find a gem. Like this jersey that I got for HKD300/SGD10! Can we all say Isabel Marant sporty-chic!?

Also got these Chinese charms. The blue beads symbolize "good health" and the red string is for "good fortune".

These Zara jeans are a last-minute buy. I still had HKD300 leftover which is too small to change back to SGD so I looked around at the HK airport for something to spend them on. These patched jeans are on sale for HKD199! They remind me of Celine. Paired with white tee, statement necklace and flats=casually cool. :)
