striped and baggy

IMG_7316
I picked up this top recently in Cotton On's sale rack - selling for $5, baby! - and originally meant to wear it to my Body Jam classes. But then I had this idea to pair with my wide leg pants for a casual slouchy look.

striped_2
I've had these pants since 2008 and they are my travel pants. They are the comfiest I can get without resorting to wearing sweats.

To add a bit of zing to the outfit, I wore my statement necklace.

I was wearing: wide leg pants from Tangs, Cotton On striped tee, gladiator sandals from Melissinos (Athens), Forever 21 necklace, Uniqlo belt.

music festival

Last Friday, I dressed up as if I will spend the day watching Rilo Kiley or Radiohead at Coachella at Bonnaroo. Ha!

This tie-dye dress is a lucky find at Chinatown. Only $10!

music_fest_1
Topped it off with my denim vest.

The uneven hemline is my favorite detail with this dress. To keep with the bohemian look, I accessorized with a stack of bangles...

and my ever-dependable gladiator sandals.

I was wearing: tie-dye dress from Chinatown, denim jacket-turned-vest, Melissinos sandals from Athens, Diva bangles.

dry heat

The weather here in Singapore has been so unbearably hot and humid lately. It hasn't rained in almost three weeks! With this weather, all I can do really is n opt for more comfortable, lighter pieces lately.

On Wednesday, I also decided to get in on the summer mood with a lot of color! (I just browsed through the last few outfit posts and realize color is seriously missing from my everyday wear lately!)

summer color_1
This is my favorite color combo - cobalt blue + tangerine. The cobalt blue reminds me of azure waters while the tangerine feels like a refreshing glass of ice-cold juice.

summer_color_2
I haven't had a summer holiday yet and I am seriously craving (and in need of!) one.

I was wearing: cobalt blue pants from H&M, Kiss Jane scalloped top, Trois + Inch loafers.

red, white and blue

On June 12, I decided to wear the flag colors to celebrate Philippine Independence Day.

rl_1
But then I realize this look is more Americana, very Ralph Lauren than I planned.

rl_2
I normally don't like pairing red and white together. So I decided to break up the pairing by wearing my denim vest.

rl_3
By the way, the denim vest is a staple this summer. Seen them paired with flowy floral dresses or palazzo pants.

I was wearing: red skinny pants from Forever 21, Uniqlo white tee, denim vest (old), Trois + Inch loafers.

quiet

I matched my new statement necklace with a simple pullover. necklace
I let the necklace (and that ugly zit! ugh!) take center stage.

Statement necklace from Forever 21.

craving: boyfriend jeans

Loving the ripped boyfriend jeans now in Zara stores
This pair is my favorite. Would go perfectly with a simple tee accessorized with a statement necklace.

All three pairs are sold at $S89.

blue collar

Here's another 90s outfit, featuring the flannel shirt I just recently picked up.

Since the shirt is about 3x bigger than what I usually wear, it almost looks like a parka. To add to the whole blue collar, man of the woods effect, kept the details like the cuffed sleeves deliberately messy.

This look might have been inspired by two things: I am currently re-reading Margaret Atwood's Surfacing or because I recently came across an old GQ photoshoot of Scott Speedman and this is my favorite from that set:

I was wearing: Cotton On flannel shirt, tank top from Dorothy Perkins, boyfriend shorts from Greenhills (Manila), Charles & Keith court shoes.

just in: accessories

new_accessories
I've been looking for a statement necklace for the last two months so I'm glad I finally found one that I absolutely adore! This is from Forever 21. I'm contemplating doing a little DIY project to add a bit of drama to this and I can't wait to get started. But for now, I've got a few looks in mind that would work so well with this.

new_accessories_2
Though this is technically not new - bought in Manila in March, I never really got to show you this beautiful pair of earrings. I love how it looks like a combination of Indian and Bohemian inspired jewelry.

For accessories, I always find winners at Forever 21 and Manila's Apostrophe. F21 is great for a lot of chunky and trendy pieces at an affordable price. Though I find Apostrophe quite pricey, I love their unique designs.

Since I now have a growing collection of accessories, I decided to pick up this clay plate to stash my rings and earrings. How do you store your accessories?

cropped

On Friday, I decided to wear this nude cropped top with my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans.

cropped_2
I bought this cropped top over a year ago but just never got around to wearing it until now.

cropped_1
I wasn't sure if a loose and boxy cropped top will work well paired with baggy denim, but I'm loving this look. It's very comfortable too. Perfect for warmer days. I was also on my second attempt of breaking in my new pair of pointy heels. One more day of break-in, and I could run after my bus in these.

cropped_3

I was wearing: Nude cropped top from H&M, Pull & Bear boyfriend jeans, pointy shoes from CLN (Manila), Diva bangles and bag from Parfois (Manila).

all the pretty yellows

yellow
Jersey dress from Tangs, Pull & Bear fluorescent yellow skinny jeans, striped yellow crop top from Pull & Bear, H&M men's walking shorts, mustard yellow pencil skirt gifted by Cuz, RayBan wayfarers, beaded necklace from Iora.

I'd never imagine that I would fall in love with the color yellow. I've always thought it a difficult color to pull off, but for the past couple of years I've been slowly collecting items in various shades of yellow. I love how it can represent different moods just by the color that you pair with it. Quite a versatile color, actually.

This summer, yellow seems to be everywhere so a great opportunity to get out of our style comfort zone and try on color!

bumblebee

Finally wore my neon yellow pair of pants. For this look, I went the easy way and paired with my black button-down.

yellow_1 (2)
Even with the extra skinny fit, this pair is actually a very comfortable pair because of the soft denim.

yellow_4
Almost like second skin. Next time, I will use this as a color-blocking piece.

I was wearing: Neon yellow skinny jeans from Pull & Bear, Cotton On button-down, Charles & Keith court shoes.

just in: men's department

Been shopping in the men's section yet again. Here are the pieces I got recently:

new_mens
From left to right: Cobalt blue tee from H&M, Extra large plaid shirt (for more 90s looks!) from Cotton On, Men's shorts from H&M - perfect folded up loosely paired with black pointy high heels.

new_mens_1
You've seen me practically live in my black court shoes from Charles & Keith that I wore them out so I picked up another pair. And I just couldn't resist picking up the nude pair too.
